Meet Sam.
Samantha Sendor (née Ewers) is the Editor-in-Chief of Sophisticated Weddings Magazine and the former Director of Content Strategy at GrapevineAI. As a writer and editor, she has covered a wide breadth of genres in travel, fashion, beauty, bridal, motherhood, entertainment, celebrity interviews, and lifestyle. She writes/has written for several media outlets including My Subscription Addiction, Lady & The Blog, I'm Not Obsessed, Great Restaurants Magazine, Melissa & Doug, Fit Celeb, and more. Utilizing her expertise and creative eye, she is also a consultant to a select number of lush events each year, and has presented as a guest lecturer at NYU's graduate program for Event Marketing Strategy.
Having formed an early interest in writing and fashion, as a child Samantha observed the New York Fashion Week broadcasts from her local Metro television channel, compiling her impressions of the season's trends. Little did she know that a childhood hobby of critiquing the runway and designing homemade magazines from construction paper wouldn't be so far off from her eventual career path. Down the road, Samantha found an outlet for her creativity as a contributing editor for her high school newspaper, as well in an underground tabloid she formed which poked fun at the idiosyncrasies of her school's social and political dynamics. She went on to complete her Bachelor of Arts degree from The New School for Public Engagement (formerly known as The New School for General Studies) in 2009, and Master of Arts degree from Columbia University in 2011.
Prior to publishing her first magazine, Samantha's writing and editing has been featured across several major media outlets, lending her expertise in bridal, fashion, beauty, entertainment, travel, and lifestyle, reaching more than five million readers. As a regular attendee of New York Fashion Week, Samantha has placed an emphasis on building relationships with designers and brands. Upon an early discovery of the couture by Ines Di Santo, she became enchanted by what the bridal industry had to offer. Samantha was eager to cater an unfulfilled need for a bridal resource that blends the essential properties of a top-two tier venue guide for New York City with useful and engaging editorial. Partnering up with the publisher of Great Restaurants of Fairfield, Westchester & The Hudson Valley and Sophistication In Westchester Magazine, the pair dynamically captured the NYC bridal market utilizing their backgrounds in lifestyle journalism and high-end publications. Sophisticated Weddings Magazine has become widely regarded as a planning necessity among metropolitan brides for every step of the wedding process. Since the publication’s inception in 2012, Sophisticated Weddings Magazine continues to stand out as a success story among a tumultuous print media world, further proving that print is not dead - so long as the creative execution adapts to an ever-changing landscape.
In 2020, Samantha joined the team at MSA to focus her content expertise in a digital evergreen capacity before a high traffic audience. In 2021, she had been appointed the title of Managing Editor, and later Head of Content Strategy, leading in strategic efforts to propel the business into a new content horizon. In response to the devastating impact that the iOS 14 update has had on digital growth marketing, MSA sought to shift its sights toward a solution that would benefit brands and consumers alike in Q4 of 2021. As a partner in pioneering the new age of digital marketing, Sam and the MSA team had broken ground in the dynamic third-party whitelisting domain. Building foundations of social proof and accelerated conversions, this win-win results-oriented content strategy connects consumers with brands via high quality, authentic user generated content that translates into greater engagement and lower customer acquisition costs. In 2023, the start-up was rebranded as GrapevineAI, and Sam was appointed Director of Content Strategy.
A British-born (shout out to Bristol!) enthusiastic world traveler, when Samantha is not out and about exploring remote parts of the globe, she enjoys all creative endeavors in cooking, crafting, entertaining, sketching, and writing, as well cherishing the creature comforts of home from her residences in London and New York City.
