FINDING YOUR EDITOR
Your story deserves more than just grammar checks. Here's what you should know about me (or any editor) as you seek out your ideal match.
You've poured your heart, experiences, and expertise into your manuscript. Whether it's a deeply personal narrative, a compilation of essays that matter to you, or a work of fiction that's been living in your mind for years, your book deserves an editor who sees its potential and helps you realize it.
Chemistry Matters
Let's be honest—editing a book isn't like editing a blog post. We're going to spend months together, diving deep into your ideas, your voice, and sometimes your most vulnerable truths. This is an intimate creative partnership, and the chemistry between author and editor can make or break the process.
Before we begin any project, we'll have an in-depth consultation to ensure we're the right fit. I need to understand:
Your vision for the book and your goals for publishing
Your writing process and how you prefer to receive feedback
Your timeline and how hands-on you want the editorial relationship to be
Whether my background and approach align with your needs
I'm not going to be the right editor for every author or project, and that's okay. What matters is finding the partnership that will bring out your best work.
My Editorial Philosophy: Your Voice, Enhanced
Every edit I make is a suggestion, never a demand.
You'll receive your manuscript with track changes and comments, allowing you to accept or reject every proposed revision. Your original content is never overwritten; this your voice, your story, your choice.
When I encounter areas that could benefit from expansion or clarification, I don't just mark them as problems. I ask thought-provoking questions designed to help you dig deeper:
"Can you help the reader feel what you felt in this moment?"
"What's the deeper significance of this event in your journey?"
"How does this connect to the larger theme you're exploring?"
I believe in taking the care and time to dig deep and unlock breakthrough angles and concepts by means of dialogue and collaboration. Together, we won't just clean up syntax–we're going to elevate your book so it meets or exceeds your ambitions. Better yet, you'll have an invested partner in your success, right by your side.

Working with diverse voices and complex subject matter
Navigating traditional and self-publishing landscapes
Constructing organizational content systems from the ground up

My Diverse Background
You name it, I’ve done it. In fact, before shifting gears and meeting my editorial calling many moons ago, I had set my sights on studying toward a doctorate degree in clinical psychology. Although I did not stay the course after earning my master’s degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology (with a concentration in Personality and Psychopathology) from Columbia University, the takeaways from my academic and clinical experience were substantial.
Here’s how my educational background has proven invaluable in my editorial projects:
Shaping of memoirs and personal narratives involving trauma or difficult experiences
Facilitating the cohesive structure of nonfiction books that address mental health topics in an accurate and concise manner
Integrating ethical boundaries when handling sensitive content
Helping authors navigate the emotional aspects of sharing personal stories
Strategically leaning into consumer and reader psychology so the manuscript captivates its target audience from the very first page
Construct effective organizational models for seamless writing processes with peak efficiency and utmost quality
